Why is there no HD button on my WhatsApp video?
WhatsApp only offers HD when it would otherwise shrink your video. If a video is already at a size WhatsApp keeps, there is nothing to choose, so the HD button doesn't appear and the video is sent as it is.
When the button is missing
- The video is already small enough, as Postproof's videos are. That's the good case: WhatsApp sends it untouched.
- WhatsApp is out of date. Update it from the App Store or Play Store.
- You're posting straight to Status from the camera. Send it to a chat first, then forward it.
Check your default
- In WhatsApp, go to Settings, Storage and Data, Media Upload Quality, and choose HD Quality, so the HD choice is on whenever it appears.
Questions
Does no HD button mean low quality?
Not necessarily. It can mean WhatsApp is keeping the video exactly as you prepared it.
